Cinnamon Sugar Pull-Apart Bread

The fact that these pictures are staring at you right now is a small miracle.  Seriously.

1) I didn’t read the recipe directions and added all the ingredients at the wrong times.

2) For the life of me, I couldn’t tell if the bread was cooked through.  It entered and exited the oven at least three times.

3) I got texting for the first time. Yes, at age 15.  Don’t judge.   I thought I was texting one of the editors to tell her that I was bringing the bread in.  Turns out I wasn’t.  I’m very sorry to whoever received that text.  That awkward bread picture…yeah.

It’s so tempting to publish the pictures I took of the editors chowing down (and practicing their sexy faces for the camera). But, they probably wouldn’t appreciate that, so I’m going to refrain… for now :)Now let’s talk taste! I would actually name this particular recipe “Nutmeg Sugar Pull-Apart Bread”.  The cinnamon definitely gets shoved aside a bit by a strong nutmeg flavor.  Next time, I’ll probably reduce or even omit that pesky spice.  The fact that it takes over the recipe bugs me, but that’s just my personal taste.  The bread itself is similar to a cinnamon roll.  The top retains a nice crunchy, sugary crust that contrasts well with the feathery middle.
